
The Challenge
As the sole provider of refugee and immigrant health screenings in Pennsylvania’s Region 5, MHEDS plays a vital role in public health across Northwestern PA. But despite its impact, the organization lacked broad brand recognition—even among potential patients, partners, and funders. MHEDS needed a strategy to clarify its identity, elevate its mission, and fuel aggressive expansion.
Our Approach
Strategic Arc led the development of a full strategic marketing plan to position MHEDS for growth. While a full rebrand was considered, we recognized the need to first educate the public on who MHEDS is and what they do. We refreshed the logo, introduced a new tagline—“Helping people from around the world and right here at home”—and executed a coordinated marketing rollout.
Our work included PR, executive op-eds, provider recruitment campaigns, event collateral, and messaging strategies designed to bridge cultural understanding and build community trust.
The Result
In just 18 months, MHEDS more than doubled its revenue, tripled its number of providers, and opened a new clinic location, with two additional sites in the pipeline. The organization is now recognized as a leading voice in equitable healthcare and continues to expand access to care for multicultural and multilingual communities.
